  • Programme
Please be aware that the content of this event is aimed at people in HR or a related position such as training and development.

This event aimed at HR professionals, will help Scottish Businesses to protect themselves and their employees from the biggest single safety at work issue to be managed in most businesses. Besides highlighting the legal, safety and business cases for action, this event will provide information on:

  • Developing a risk management approach
  • Training and motivating drivers and line managers
  • Developing company policies and standards
  • The consequences of the Corporate Homicide Act
  • The environmental impact of driving

RoSPA Managing Occupational Road Risk Guide and Driver Profiler Risk Assessment Software for each delegateIt is estimated that approximately 100 people die each year on Scotland’s roads whilst going about their work, a figure that is roughly three times greater than quoted figures for accidental deaths occurring in the workplace.

Following the introduction of the Corporate Homicide Bill, business will in future be open to prosecution following work-related deaths – especially where safety standards have fallen far below what might reasonably be expected.

Companies are losing thousands of pounds in profits and putting their employees at risk by not developing and implementing a proactive approach to road risk.

Savings include:

  • Reduced insurance costs
  • Lower fuel costs
  • Decreased repair costs
  • Less staff time lost
  • Less interruption to business and damage to reputation

FREE Driver Profiler Risk Assessment Software
This online assessment takes around 20 minutes to complete and consists of two sections, firstly identifying information personal to the driver such as accident history, mileage and the type of driving they do. The second section consists of a series of 98 statements regarding driving attitudes whereby employees have to decide the extent that each statement applies to them.

At the end of the assessment, employees will receive an individual report which allows them to see 'at risk' areas of their driving and provides tips and advice to improve these areas. The traits measured by the risk assessment are: aggression, alertness, stress, dislike of driving, anticipation, attention, violation, and error.

The Software will be sent to you via email once your booking is processed. The RoSPA Managing Occupational Road Risk Guide, usually priced at £25 will be available at the Seminar.
