RoSPA Press Office : Press ReleaseMay 13, 2008 With RoSPA’s next NEBOSH National Diploma (Level 6) course starting just after the summer holiday period, now is the time for health and safety professionals to consider progressing their career by studying for this important qualification. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents was one of the earliest providers of the NEBOSH National Diploma, and recent enhancements to the package mean delegates benefit not just from expert teaching from RoSPA trainers during classroom sessions, but also from valuable support for the duration of their studies. A free mentoring package, including one-to-one telephone and email contact, enables tutors to advise students on safety issues affecting their workplaces. It also gives delegates a subscription to RoSPA publications, unlimited access to RoSPA’s Information Centre and the chance to complete mock exams. The recently-launched online RoSPA Diploma Delegate Forum provides another way for students to interact with their tutors, who are members of RoSPA staff rather than associate trainers, and swap ideas with each other. RoSPA also runs a diploma revision course, which is open to all students, and a free workshop for those working on their mandatory assignment. Errol Taylor, RoSPA Deputy Chief Executive, said: “RoSPA has built up unrivalled expertise in offering a full range of training options, and particularly in enabling health and safety professionals to further their careers by achieving NEBOSH qualifications. “We have worked hard to develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of our students, such as our diploma mentoring package and our flexible modular route and in-company options for those seeking to gain the National General Certificate. “The success of our comprehensive approach to NEBOSH training can be clearly seen through the consistently high exam results achieved by our students.” The NEBOSH National Diploma, which is accredited at Level 6 within the National Qualification Framework, is the most widely recognised academic health and safety qualification in the UK. It is aimed at those wishing to become chartered members of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH). The NEBOSH National General Certificate is one of the best-regarded foundations in health and safety. For full details of RoSPA’s NEBOSH National Diploma (Level 6) and National General Certificate training options, speak to a member of RoSPA staff on Safety & Health Expo stand D30 (May 13-15), email training@rospa.com , call 0121 248 2233 or visit www.rospa.com/occupationaltraining/nebosh/ . For those with practical experience, who may not need a period of academic study, RoSPA provides NVQ Level 4 options as an alternative route to CMIOSH status. |
