Managers, supervisors and safety professionals increasingly play a complex and crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of employees and a well-grounded, comprehensive knowledge of the key issues is essential in order to meet these high demands. Covering 16 units, the NEBOSH National General Certificate provides the confidence that comes from operating from an informed point of view and remains arguably the best-regarded foundation in health and safety. For those wishing to complete this qualification through the traditional block release route, RoSPA provides an excellent ten day training programme at training centres in Birmingham and Edinburgh enabling delegates to immerse themselves fully in the learning environment. Delegates will leave the course with a broad understanding of relevant legislation, safety performance monitoring, investigation of accidents, the design and implementation of safe systems of work and accident prevention programmes, and the management of safety within the workplace. As with all RoSPA courses, the emphasis throughout is on the practical implementation of knowledge, as well as the skills to pass. ● Full Course Dates ● Revision Course Dates ● Examination Dates	What will delegates learn? ● The purpose of, and basis for, a system for managing health and safety ● The importance of workplace safety culture ● Proactive and reactive health and safety monitoring procedures ● The risk assessment process ● Key risk control measures, including safe systems of work, permits to work, emergency procedures and basic first aid ● Principles and types of accident investigation ● How to identify and control key workplace hazards, including fire, work equipment, substances hazardous to health and workplace equipment. How will they be assessed? Via one practical assessment and two two-hour examinations. Optional revision courses are available, and further private study will also be required. RoSPA’s three-day revision courses are divided into a day and a half concentrating on Paper A1 and a day and a half concentrating on Paper A2.They are an opportunity to refresh your knowledge and to practice exam techniques and attendance is strongly recommended by both RoSPA and NEBOSH. Delegates who have taken this course by a distance learning or home study route are also able to attend RoSPA revision courses.
