NVQ4 Occupational Health and Safety

The NVQ4 offers an alternative entry route to CMIOSH status. Delegates work with a Mentor to produce a portfolio of evidence detailing the application of key health and safety management principles within their place of work. It is a flexible option, which can be tailored to suit the needs of individual delegates.

Delegates are assigned an expert RoSPA Mentor who combines industry experience with a proven track record of tutoring others. The Mentor will be on hand to support and guide candidates through the syllabus at a pace that suits their abilities and that fits around ongoing workplace demands. There are no structured classroom sessions; instead delegates will liaise directly with their personal mentor via email, the telephone and face-to-face sessions.

As the NVQ route is reliant upon the submission of evidence from a delegate’s place of work, it is arguably most appropriate for those who have already amassed practical experience as safety and health practitioners.
