Safe as houses – Times on-line feature |
If you are looking to take advantage of the spring weather and Mayday holidays to make changes to your home, bear in mind some of the main danger areas. You can see these in a new light on the timesonline website, where there is an interactive feature which RoSPA and the Times produced as a home safety guide for its readers.
Originally produced for a Times Body and Soul feature; entitled 'Keeping Your Family Safe as Houses', online users can open up individual rooms in the 'House of Pain' on the Times website, and see into a garden, to pick up safety advice specific to each area.
You will need the Flash Player to view the interactive guide.

Corporate accountability - 10 conditions for a prosecution
|
Since the change in the law on 6th April, what is the likelihood of prosecution under the new Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act?
The Act applies to the whole of the UK, and a list of 10 conditions for a prosecution, which highlights directors’ accountabilities, has been published by the CCA.
If you wish to understand these better, then RoSPA’s forthcoming events clarify the new situation, and help directors to appreciate their own direct responsibilities for any failures to protect their staff.
Conference: Developing leadership action delivering on directors' health and safety responsibilities - Tuesday 13th May 2008 - Concourse Suite, NEC, Birmingham
Course: Director Involvement in Health and Safety - one day training course, 04 June 2008, Birmingham.
