Health and Safety Review – a unique advisory service

Health and Safety ReviewThe RoSPA Health and Safety Review provides independent guidance for managers with responsibility for health and safety. Developed principally for small businesses, the review is also relevant to larger companies whose safety management systems are not sufficiently developed to justify the application of a full Safety Management System Audit.

A RoSPA consultant will assess the health and safety issues faced by your organisation, evaluate how well your present processes are meeting those needs, and report back in detail on the findings. In particular, we will highlight how you are managing risks in specific areas of your business. The review will then make recommendations about how best to proceed, including specific advice on how to develop and implement a safety action plan.

Safer People Handling Hoist Course – reduce injuries – save money

Safer People HandlingAt RoSPA we know that the effects of musculoskeletal injury due to people handling can be long lasting, often resulting in significant time off work and at worst costly compensation claims.

Hoists play an increasingly central role in the safe moving and handling of patients and clients. Coupled with the growing complexity and diversity of hoists, this means that adequate training is now more important than ever.

RoSPA’s one-day Hoist Course offers the opportunity to devote a full day to the theory and practice of the safe use of hoists in our unique and fully equipped People Care Centre.

Home Safety: achieving a balance between complacency and paranoia

The home should provide a safe environment, a place where people of all ages can enjoy a relaxed and happy time. However, thousands are killed or seriously injured in the environment in which they should feel most safe. Taking place on 11th and 12th November in Blackpool, RoSPA’s National Home Safety Congress will explore a range of solutions aimed at achieving the right balance between complacency and paranoia.

Titled ‘Regulating for Home Safety’, the programme boasts an extensive range of speakers from both local and national organisations with representatives from the Department of Health, NICE, Department for Children Schools and Families and West Midlands Fire Service to name but a few

At this year’s congress you will be able to network with the people who are shaping the future of home safety. Speakers present will include national policy makers, inventors and designers, data researchers and enforcers.

The event aims to discuss strategies and solutions, to share successes and to encourage more people to take up the challenge of reducing injuries sustained at home.Hometek
